RALPH LYNWOOD "LYNN" SMITH

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Ralph Lynwood “Lynn” Smith, age 82, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 in Quitman GA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Jimmy Walden and Rev. Herman Enfinger officiating. Interment will follow at Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt, GA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born in Midland City, AL on November 15, 1926 to the late T.T. and Maggie Dickson Smith. He was a member of Unity Church of God; a retired truck driver and farmer and was preceded in death by his wife Marie Ingram Smith in 2003. He is survived by two sons, Wayne Smith and his wife Judy of Albany, GA and Quinn Smith and his wife Janice of Colquitt, GA; two daughters, Yvonne Whittaker and her husband Edward and Debra Gross and her husband Sonny all of Colquitt, GA; one brother, Russell Smith and his wife Lillian of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; T.T. and Maggie Dickson Smith; his wife, Marie Ingram Smith; six sisters, Evelyn Hobbs, Inez Benton, Geraldine Hawks, Reba Enfinger,Juanita Ingram and Christine Cross; four brothers, John Smith, Bob Smith, Bill Smith and Duke Smith. Active casketbearers will be his grandsons, Mark Whittaker, Chris Whittaker, Josh Gross, Casey Gross, Doug Smith, Ronnie Smith and Doug Rankin. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
