IDA LOUISE YAGER "GRANNY" McLAUGHLIN

February 18, 1925 — April 11, 2016

Ida Louise Yager McLaughlin, age 91, of Chipley, FL and formerly of Donalsonville, GA passed away Monday evening, April 11, 2016 at Washington Health and Rehab in Chipley, FL. Funeral services for Ms. McLaughlin will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA at 3:00 PM with Rev. Ernest Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Michael Hurt, Kellan Hurt, Robby Spivey, Danny Alley, Allen McLaughlin, and Milton Freeman serving as active casketbearers. Ms. McLaughlin was born in Chipley, FL on Feb. 18, 1925 to James Alexander Yager and Nellie Mae Collins Yager. She worked for many years as a seamstress at the sewing factory in Donalsonville, GA. She was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Chipley, FL and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was affectionately called “Granny” by everyone. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Paul Franklin McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Bonifay, FL, Dorothy Whitehurst of Chipley, FL, Mary Trawick and her husband William of Donalsonville, GA, and Lilly Marie Hurt and her husband Mike of Atlanta, GA; a daughter-in-law, Audrey Sodders of Chipley, FL; one sister, Betty Lambert and her husband Larry of Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Ms. McLaughlin was preceded in death by her parents, James Alexander Yager and Nellie Mae Collins Yager; her son, James Ray Sodders; her brother, Lee Yager; her sister, Catherine Cox; and her grandson, James Sodders, Jr.
