We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Phillip Ivey, age 62, of Jasper, FL who passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at Lake City VA Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Ivey will be held on Monday, May 11, 2009, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Odom officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Ivey was born in Donalsonville, GA on April 23, 1947 to the late James T. and Minnie Lee White Ivey. He served his country in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was awarded certificates as a Marksman, Sharpshooter, and Expert Shooter. He is survived by his wife Diane Ivey of Jasper, FL; two daughters, Demonica Ivey Ison and her husband Ben of Naples, FL and Julie Ivey Still and her husband Matt of Atlanta, GA; a brother, James Ivey and his wife Carol of Naples, FL; a sister, June Ingram of Panama Ciity, FL; a sister-in-law, Sue Ivey of Covington, GA; and two grandchildren, Brant and Blaine Ison. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. . He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Minnie Lee White Ivey; a sister, Betty Merle Collins; and a brother, Rother Ivey. Active casketbearers will be Ben Ison, Matt Still, Brant Ison, Blaine Ison, James Ivey, Jr., and Vance Ledbetter . Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
