Ira O. “Buddy” Lee, Jr., age 73, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Saturday morning, March 5, 2016 at his residence. A memorial service for Mr. Lee will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Donalsonville with Rev. Michael Wingertsahn, Dr. Calvin Arnold, and Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church at 10:00 AM. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Buddy Lee Memorial Ag Scholarship Fund c/o David Fain Commercial State Bank PO Box 217 Donalsonville, GA 39845. A graveside memorial will be held in Dixie Union, GA at Jordan Church Cemetery on Friday, March 11 at 2:00 PM. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Jordan, Martin Wisherd, Steve Emberson, Tic Lee, Spence Davis, Z.A. Music, Joe Burke, Bob Dutton, Ken Herring, Scott Mitchell, Chris Thomas, Danny Watson, Larry Hornsby, Willard Mims, Phillip Williams, and Ben Dozier. Mr. Lee was born in Waycross, GA on December 8, 1943 to Ira O. Lee, Sr. and Erma Lee Davis Lee. He was a member of the 21st Infantry Division of the Army National Guard and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. Mr. Lee worked for a number of years as a sales representative in agricultural related businesses and was a master appraiser. He was a member of and strong supporter of the Seminole County Young Farmers, the GA Young Farmers, and a member of GA Plant Food. Mr. Lee was involved with and supported the Seminole County 4-H for many years, making a huge impact of the lives of many children in our area. He was a member of First Baptist Church Donalsonville and was a member of the Friends Sunday School Class. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dianne Lee of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Glenn Ira Lee and his wife Deanna and Bryan Joseph Lee and Tessa all of Donalsonville, GA; a sister, Erma Lee Taylor and daughter, Jenny Taylor both of Ft. Worth, TX; two granddaughters, Hillary Harrell of Colquitt, GA and Hannah Lee of Donalsonville, GA; two grandsons, Maddox Lee of Louisville, AL and Talan Lee of Donalsonville, GA; and a great granddaughter, Ollie Harrell of Colquitt, GA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Ira O. Lee, Sr. and Erma Lee Davis Lee; his sister, Myrtle Smith; and his brothers, J.W. Lee and Calvin Lee.
