CHARLES EDWARD GRANT, SR.

Charles Edward Grant, Sr., age 77, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Monday evening, Feb. 22, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Grant will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 at 3:30 PM at Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Dr. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Dukes, Aaron Dukes, Greg Mims, Donnie Alday, James Taylor, and Clint Mims serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, Feb. 24, 2016 from 5:00 -7:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Grant was born on August 30, 1938 in Columbus, GA, the child of Hubert and Ruth Faircloth Grant. He worked for 26 years with the GA Dept. of Transportation as a maintenance technician before retiring. Mr. Grant was a member of Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He loved music and truly had a passion for playing the harmonica. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Lannie Temples Grant of Donalsonville, GA; his son, Chase Grant and his wife Alicia of Buford, GA; his daughter, Suzanne Grant of Donalsonville, GA; three brothers, Billy Grant and his wife Virginia of Donalsonville, GA, and Larry Grant and Mike Grant of Donalsonville, GA; three sisters-in-law, Chris Pongerayter and her husband Mike of North Port, AL, Kattie Rogers and her husband Roy of Donalsonville, GA, and Becky Thomas and her husband Alan of Bainbridge, GA; and a brother-in-law, Paul Temples and his wife Lajuanna of Bainbridge, GA. Mr. Grant is also survived by several nieces and nephews and two beloved “grandkids”, Jilian and Bianca. Mr. Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Ruth Faircloth Grant; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Evelyn Temples; and his sister-in-law, Elaine Grant.
