Marian “Marie” Dutton Drake, age 81, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2016 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL Funeral services for Mrs. Drake will be held on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. John Drake and Rev. Garth Duke-Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Joe Drake, Jack Owen, Greg Drake, Josh Gautney, Bobby Reynolds, and Sammy Reese serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, Jan. 28, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Drake was born in Widnes, England on July 10, 1934 to Ernest Victor Dutton and Ivy Robinson Dutton. Even though she married into American citizenship, Mrs. Drake studied diligently and passed all testing to receive her American citizenship on her own. She was actively involved in the family businesses and was a member of the Friendship Supper Club for many years. Mrs. Drake was a homemaker and member of Friendship United Methodist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Billy Gene Drake, Jr. and his wife Carlene of Donalsonville, GA and Jimmy Drake and his wife Tawanna of Donalsonville, GA; a son-in-law, Ray Gordon of Donalsonville, GA; and a brother, Ken Dutton of Widnes, England. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kayla Gordon, Jared Gordon and his wife Chasity, Micheal Drake and his wife Haley, Wendy Drake Reynolds and her husband Bobby, and Preston Drake; as well as her great grandchildren, Mason Drake, Myles Gordon, and Asher Reynolds. Mrs. Drake was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Victor Dutton and Ivy Robinson Dutton; her husband Billy Gene Drake, Sr., and her daughter, Jane Drake Gordon.
