ETHEL LEE MOSELY

Ethel Lee Shelley Mosely, age 91, of Iron City, GA passed away Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2016 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville, GA. Funeral services for Mrs. Mosely will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Olive Grove Primitive Baptist Church “Rock Pond” in Iron City, GA with Elder Ross Plowden and Rev. Glenn Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Kenny Shelley, Eric Glass, Joe Barber, Kent Mathis, Eli Shelley, and Logan Plowden serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, January 12, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Mosely was born in Tumbleton, AL on September 25, 1924 to Marvious Youlus Shelley and Mattie Messer Shelley. She was a member of Olive Grove Primitive Baptist Church and retired from the Seminole County Elementary School Lunchroom. Mrs. Mosely was an excellent cook and enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking for her family and others. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Retah Herring and her husband Walter of Iron City, GA, Jesse Mosely and his wife Sybil of Iron City, GA, Delma Mosely of Donalsonville, GA, and Paula Whaley of Iron City, GA; her stepchildren, J.W. Mosely and his wife Magaline of Tallahassee, FL,and Louise Burch of Albany, GA; a sister, Malinda Brewer and her husband Jim of Crestview,FL; a sister-in-law, Dot Shelley of Phenix City, AL; and an aunt, Doris Bond of Dothan, AL. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Richard Herring and his wife Robyn, Susan Herring, Harold Mosely, Marjorie Mosely, and Zach Whaley; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Austin Herring; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and step-great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mosely was preceded in death by her parents, Marvious Youlus Shelley and Mattie Messer Shelley; her step-mother, Mary Messer Shelley; her husband, Paul Mosely; four brothers, Shelby Ray Shelley, Clarence Shelley, George Shelley, and Howard Shelley; two sisters, Beatrice Bond and Edna Shelley; a stepson, Billy Mosely; and a daughter-in-law, Ruby Mosely.
