Marshall Marlow “Bug” Mooney, Jr., age 87, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Wednesday evening, December 2, 2015 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Mooney will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Oakview Church of God with Rev. Mylan Brookins and Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Jeffrey Swanner, Corey Mercer, Jonathan Hamilton, Bill Mercer, Ronnie Welch, and Dale Swanner serving as casketbearers. Visitation will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Mooney was born in Ashburn, GA on January 10, 1928 to Marshall Marlow Mooney, Sr. and Ella Mae Hood Mooney. Mr. Mooney served in the United States Army and retired from the State of Georgia Dept. of Transportation. After his retirement he worked as a security guard at AMOCO and Georgia Pacific. He also worked with the Seminole County Road Dept. and the Seminole County Senior Citizens Center. He was a member of Oakview Church of God, the Men’s Fellowship at Oakview and the American Legion. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Norma Mooney of Donalsonville, GA; his daughters, Brenda Cervantes (Jose) of Tifton, GA, Donna Harrison (Mark) of Whigham, GA, and Marilyn Craft (Jeff Kelly) of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Melissa Sargent, JoAnn Miller, Jamie Hamilton, Kristy Torres, Jeffrey Swanner, Courtney Parker, and Corey Mercer as well as 18 great grandchildren. Mr. Mooney was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Marlow Mooney, Sr. and Ella Mae Hood Mooney; his son, Marshall Marlow Mooney, III; his brother, William “Bill” Mooney; and his sister, Ruby Gibbs.
