CHARLIE MELVIN CARROLL

March 31, 1915 — March 15, 2006

We regret to announce the passing of Charlie Melvin Carroll, age 90, of Cairo, GA, formerly of Donalsonville, GA, who passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2006 in Cairo. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. DeWayne Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Carroll was born in Grady County on March 31, 1915 to the late Eli And Evie Bennett Carroll. He was a machinist and attended Donalsonville Church of God. He served his country in the US Air Force during World War II and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Brother Moses and his wife, Pauline Thompson Carroll. He is survived by one son, Jerry Carroll of Bainbridge, GA ; five daughters, Betty Sherman of Perry GA; Charlene and James Perry of Path Fork, KY; Margaret Carroll and Bennie Thompson of Donalsonville, GA; Virginia and John Boyd of Knoxville,TN; Anita and David Nartnik; two brothers, Hansel and Annie Carroll of Iron City, GA; Byron and Sybil Carroll of Marianna, FL; one sister, Wilma Hagins of Jacksonville, FL. He was also survived by 11 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 8 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Anthony J. Fanchi, David A. Sherman, Karl Everette Perry, Darrell E. Perry, Kevin W. Perry and Bryan K. Zdancewicz. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home of Donalsonville, GA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
