James Ralph Glass, age 81, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday evening, September 10, 2015 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville. Funeral services for Mr. Glass will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Rinks, Rev. John Werner, and Rev. Hubert Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Keith Bowen, Tim Raffield, Robert Cleveland, David Shattles, Keith Pickle, and Tim Marshall serving as active casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers will be Randall Tedder, Emerson Skipper, Carlton Skipper, and Kenneth Massey. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Rocky Ridge Baptist Church 1288 Hwy 39N Donalsonville, GA 39845. Mr. Glass was born in Jakin, GA on Feb. 27, 1934 to Jim Ira Glass and Bronnie Mae Miller Glass. He served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Georgia Pacific where he worked as a mechanic. Mr. Glass was an active member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 50 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jane Glass of Donalsonville, GA; three daughters, Cindy Meadows and her husband Dwayne of Cairo, GA, Susan Dowdle and her husband Steve of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Rhonda Hawkins and her husband Mark of Donalsonville, GA; two sisters, Joyce Albritton and Faye Baker and her husband Sammy Joe all of Donalsonville, GA; and a brother, Arthur Glass and his wife Ann of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lee and her husband Marcus, Travis Drake, Alison Dowdle, Cameron Dowdle, Duane Hawkins and his wife Melissa, Bridget Hawkins, and Sunni Hawkins; two great grandchildren, C.J. Lee and Marlie Hawkins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Glass was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Ira and Bronnie Mae Miller Glass and a brother, Earl Glass.
