TRAVIS HAINES BENTON, SR.

Travis Haines Benton, Sr., age 66, of Malone, FL passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 10, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Benton will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at 3:00 PM CST at First Freewill Baptist Church of Malone with Rev. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordon, AL with Tim Benton, T.J. Benton, Trey Benton, Lenny Jeziorski, Clayton Jordan, and Randy Benton serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM CST at the church. Mr. Benton was born in Dothan, AL on June 1, 1949 to Samuel Haines Benton and Ruby Easom Benton. He was a member of Hickory Grove Freewill Baptist Church and worked as a mechanic. Mr. Benton served his country in the United States Army. He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Travis Haines Benton, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Dothan, AL; a stepdaughter, Michelle Jeziorski and her husband Lenny of Crawfordville, FL; his mother, Ruby Benton of Malone, FL; three brothers, Don Benton and his wife Martha of Malone, FL, Steve Benton and his wife Jerry of Marianna, FL, and Tim Benton and his wife Sheila of Malone, FL; two sisters, Pam Jordan and her husband Steve of Bascom, FL and Paula Wright and her husband Gene of Malone, FL; and the mother of his children, Linda Benton of Dothan, AL. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Macy Benton, Riley Benton, Maggie Benton, Tripp Benton, Gary Jeziorski, and Micahlyn Jeziorski; a great grandchild, Kynslie Jeziorski; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Benton was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Haines Benton and a brother, Max Benton.
