We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Mary Lou Brooks, age 83, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away at her residence on Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Unity Church of God in Iron City, Ga at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ray Dawson, Rev. Jimmy Walden and Rev. Milton Pate officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Brooks was born in Seminole County on October 28, 1925 to the late William Penn and Pearl Brantley Gibson. She was married to the late Ellie J. Brooks, a homemaker and member of the Unity Church of God. She is survived by two sons; Travis Brooks and his wife Judy and Steven Brooks and his wife Susan, all of Donalsonville; one daughter, Louell Miner of Orlando, FL; one brother, Buddy Gibson and his wife Eloise of Bainbridge, Ga; three sisters, Myrtle McCullough of Aiken, SC, Juree Jarvis and her husband Louie of Donalsonville, GA and Louise Sinniger and her husband Bob of Houston, TX, seven grandchildren, Deborah and Mike Pedraza, Michelle and Howard Parker, Brad Brooks, Stacey Conoly, Justin Chesnut, Samuel Brooks and William Brooks and seven great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicholas and Jacob Pedraza, Steven, Natalie and Christian Parker and Logan Conoly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ellie J. Brooks, two sisters, Irene Smith and Ada Lee Gibson and one brother, J. L. Gibson. Casketbearers will be Charles Musgrove, Robert Scott, Lee Conoly, Grady Jarvis, David Jarvis and Ricky Smith.
