Claude Pritchett, age 87, of Jakin, GA passed away Sunday morning, August 30, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Pritchett will be held on Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Ron Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow in Jakin Cemetery with William Murkerson, Ricky Clark, Wayne Mayo, Robert Metcalf, Sonny Tolar, and Mike Perry serving as active casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers will be Sidney Fox, Wayne Carr, Larry Smith, and Richard Munson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Mr. Pritchett was born in Cedar Springs, GA on October 21, 1927 to Claude Allen Pritchett and Emma Kelley Pritchett. He served his country in the United States Army and was a successful farmer in this area for many years. He was at one time named the Soil and Water Conservation Man of the Year in Early County. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Bevolene Pritchett of Jakin, GA; his children, Elizabeth Ann Evans and her husband Buddy of Jakin, GA, Billy Claude Pritchett of Jakin, GA, Jan Pritchett of Jakin, GA, Desma “Nan” Aguayo of Colquitt, GA, Beverly Kay Pritchett of Jakin, GA, and special family friend, Jeff Ivey of Jakin, GA. He is also survived by his brother, Gene Pritchett of Las Vega, NV; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Pritchett was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Allen Pritchett and Emma Kelley Pritchett; three brothers, Hayes Pritchett, James “Red” Pritchett, and William Pritchett; and three sisters, Louise Mason, Francis Clemons, and Helen Moran.
