William Terry Batchelor, age 68, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday morning, June 26, 2015 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mr. Batchelor will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. James Scarborough and Rev. Randy Spicer officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Ronnie Ingram, David Ellis, Chad Smith, Arthur Glass, Mark Hawkins, and Kevin Long serving as active casketbearers. Members of local law enforcement agencies and coroners from surrounding areas will serve as honorary casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Batchelor was born in Donalsonville, GA on January 16, 1947 to Itson Batchelor and Dixie Johnson Batchelor. He graduated from Seminole County High School and was the owner/operator of Terry’s Barber Shop until his retirement. Mr. Batchelor worked for a number of years with the local law enforcement and was currently the Seminole County Coroner. He took the oath of office as Deputy Sheriff on Sept. 21, 1979 and then the oath as Deputy Coroner on Jan. 2, 2001. Terry was elected to his first term as Seminole County Coroner and took oath as the Coroner on Dec. 30, 2004 and had served in that capacity until his passing. He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carolyn Mims Batchelor of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Trent Batchelor and his wife Amy of Donalsonville, GA and Todd Batchelor and his wife Molly of Gray, GA; a sister, Mary Odom of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Nicholas Batchelor, Ethan Batchelor, Trevor Batchelor, and Macy Batchelor, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Batchelor was preceded in death by his parents, Itson and Dixie Batchelor; a twin sister, Jerry Batchelor; and a brother, Charles Batchelor.
