JACK DONALD CLARK

July 24, 1927 — January 19, 2009

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Jack Donald Clark, age 81, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away at his home on Lake Seminole on January 19, 2009. Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM EST at Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church with Dr. Edwin Willis and Rev. Richard Trawick officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 3:00 PM EST at Mt. Hebron Methodist Church in Newton, AL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, January 20, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM EST at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Clark was born in Geneva County, AL on July 24, 1927 to the late Quincey (Hoss) and Florine Skipper Clark. He attended school in Rehobeth, AL and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1948 aboard the USS Serrano in World War II. The USS Serrano participated in the Bikinni Atoll Test in 1946. Mr. Clark was co-owner of Argus Services, Inc. in Panama City, FL and owner of Seminole Sanitation Services, Inc. of Donalsonville, Camilla, and Bainbridge, GA. He retired to raising Santa Gertrudis Cattle in 1996 and was a member of the Santa Gertrudis International Breeders Association. Mr. Clark was a member of Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a charter member of the Methodist Men group. He has been a former member of the Lake Seminole Lions Club. Mr. Clark was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mr. Clark leaves to cherish his memory his wife Bonnie Faye Peacock Clark of Donalsonville, GA; a son, Donald P. Clark and his wife Kathy Marie of Midland City, AL; five daughters, Kay Clark Lane and her husband Ernie of Beaumount, TX, Susan Clark Crawford and her husband Donnie and Kathy Ann Clark Glover and her husband Gary both of Dothan, AL, Vicki Welch Combs and her husband Greg of Camilla, GA, Kathy Welch King and her husband Johnny of Slocomb, AL; a brother, Gene Clark and his wife Mary of Dothan, AL; and a sister-in-law, Louise Clark of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 6 nephews, 2 nieces, and a special friend to the family Celia Hawkins. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Quincey (Hoss) and Florine Skipper Clark; a daughter, Jacquelyn Clark; 2 granddaughters, Jacquelyn McWaters and Megan Glover; a brother, Robert (Bob) Clark; a sister, Joyce Clark Blalock; a niece, Suzette Clark Kirkland; and a nephew, Bill Blalock. Active casketbearers will be Ben McWaters, Bart McWaters, Matthew King, Michael Knowles, Robin Clark, Mark Traylor, Frankie Clark, and Chris Clark. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church 2676 Burke Road Donalsonville, GA 39845.
