BETTY DORCE BURKE SMITH

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Burke Smith, age 69, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Friday morning, Jan. 2, 2009 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Enfinger officiating with interment to follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, January 3, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Evans-Skipper Funeral Home Chapel. She worked for a number of years as a cashier and cook. Mrs. Smith attended the Donalsonville Church of God. Mrs. Smith leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Jackie L. Smith and his wife Rhonda of Lakeland, FL; a daughter, Jenny S. Enfinger of Donalsonville, GA; a brother, Ladon Burke and his wife Linda of Iron City, GA; four grandchildren, Stacey Campbell, Kevin Smith, Nicole O'Hearn, and Samantha Mosley; five great grandchildren, K.J. Smith, Michael Smith, Zachary Smith, Braxton Mosley, and Bailey Mosley; and a special friend, Shirley Moulton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ester D. Bodiford Burke; her husband, Samuel Jackson Smith; two sons, Terry Smith and Pebo Smith; a brother, Lamar "Hot Shot" Burke; and a sister, Ruby Doris Harlow. Active pallbearers will be Aaron Williams, Michael Ready, Daniel Bernard, Alton Harrison, Kevin O'Hearn, and Nevan O'Hearn. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
