Larry Wess Spann, age 72, of Jakin, GA passed away Friday afternoon, April 3, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Spann will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Bro. Vic Stuart officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Dallas Waddell, Ricky Bracewell, Vince Fallin, Bryan McMillan, Jimmy Miller, and Carey Cannon serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Spann was born in Donalsonville, GA on May 19, 1942 to Wess Hering Spann and Hassie Mae Ward Spann. He was a member of the National Guard and Jakin Baptist Church. Mr. Spann was a farmer and was named the Top Peanut Producer in Early County in 1972 and was a member of the Georgia Money Maker Peanut Club in 1971. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Rebecca Miller Spann of Jakin, GA; a son, Jonathan W. Spann of Jakin, GA; a daughter, Alisa Spann Price and husband Perry of Donalsonville, GA; three sisters, Gloria Lance of Hickory, NC, Betty Sirmons of Albany, GA, and Addie Sirmons and her husband Johnnie of Millington, TN; a grandson, Peyton L. Price of Donalsonville, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Gentiva 432 E. Shotwell Street Bainbridge, GA 39817.
