We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Andrew J. Godfrey, Jr., age 81, who passed away on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville, GA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at Evans-Skipper. Mr. Godfrey was born in Houston County, AL on January 7, 1927 to the late Andrew J. and Mabel Ferrell Godfrey. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict and retired from Three Notch Electric after working for 48 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife Jeanettte Godfrey of Donalsonville, GA; three sons, Jeff Godfrey of Tallahassee, FL; Todd Godfrey and Ferrell Godfrey both of Donalsonville, GA; one sister, Betty Kelley of Bainbridge, GA. Casketbearers will be Espy Gray, Fred Brackin, Dave Roberts, Brad Clarke, Mark Hanna and Lonnie Alday. Honorary Casketbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 81, Donalsonville, GA 39845. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
