Elise Fort

We regret to announce the passing of Elise Fort, age 94, of Toccoa, GA and formerly of Jakin, GA who passed away Saturday, January 28, 2006 in Toccoa, GA. Funeral services will be held at Jakin Freewill Baptist Church on Monday, January 30, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wayne Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Fort was born in Colquitt, GA on November 17, 1911 to the late Arthur and Alma Poole McDonald. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Rev. Joe Fort. She was a member of Jakin Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Fort leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Sue Rowell of Toccoa, GA and Betty Jo Rivers of Stephenville, TX. Three grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and 6 great grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers will be Milton Newberry, Hoyt Thornton, Andrew Sheffield, Amos Sheffield, Buck Jones, and Wayne Carr. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Jakin Freewill Baptist Church PO Box 144 Jakin, GA 39861. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home of Donalsonville, GA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
