Hazel Hill Martin, age 99, of Forest City, NC and formerly of Donalsonville, GA passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Oakland Living Center in Forest City, where she was a resident. Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Buren Womble officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with Carlton Womble, Wayne Womble, Waymon Womble, David Womble, Tracy Futch, Max Wallace, and Tommy Marshall serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Hill was born in Early County, GA on August 9, 1915 to Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hill. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, GA and the Blakely Chapter No. 282 ORS-Eastern Star. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Jubilees, the Ruth Sunday School Class, and the Mature Adults. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Mary Jane Walden of Forest City, NC and Carolyn Barnes and her husband Tommy of Helena, AL; a brother, Colonel Harris Hill, U.S. Army Ret. of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Scott, and Steven; as well as great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Clarence Hill and Edie Easom Hill; her husband, Wilmer Martin; and a son-in-law, Pruitt Walden.
