Dorothy Miller McMickle, age 92, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Sunday morning, December 28, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. McMickle will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Donalsonville with Dr. Ron McCaskill and Rev. Michael Wingertsahn officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church. Mrs. McMickle was born in Colquitt, GA on April 30, 1922 to Henry Remus Miller and Viola Grimes Miller. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Donalsonville where she attended the Ruth Sunday School Class. She enjoyed attending the activities at the Senior Citizens Center and was a wonderful cook who enjoyed sharing her dishes with others. Mrs. McMickle was also an avid and very talented quilt maker, giving her handmade quilts to various charity organizations so that they could raise money for their organizations for the benefit of others. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Bill McMickle of Donalsonville, GA; two daughters, Carol Kelley of Madison, MS and Bonnie Kelley of Laurinburg, NC; and a son, Grover Kelley and his wife Betsy of Donalsonville, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bill Spooner, Scott Spooner and his wife Leigh, Vince Kelley, Maribeth Burke and her husband Jeremy, and Kathryn Trawick and her husband Brad; as well as her great grandchildren, Shelley Carol Spooner, Will Spooner, Austin Spooner, Jackson Spooner, Rachel Spooner, JoBeth Kelley, MaryKate Kelley, Jeb Burke, Jordan Trawick, and Tanner Trawick. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. McMickle was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Remus Miller and Viola Grimes Miller, as well as 12 siblings.
