REV. HARVEY LEE HENDERSON, SR.

We regret to announce the passing of Rev. Harvey Lee Henderson, Sr., age 83, who passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at his residence in Donalsonville, GA. Funeral services for Rev. Henderson will be held at 11:00 AM CST on November 8, 2008 at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church in Marianna, FL with Rev. Donnie Hussey, Rev. Charles Powell, and Rev. Gene Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, Nov. 7, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM EST in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA and at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church in Marianna, FL one hour prior to the service. Rev. Henderson was born in Houston County, AL on December 9, 1924 to the late William Dolphus and Ossie Bell Ingram Henderson. He had served his country in the US Navy and was married for 64 years to Edna Mae Henderson who preceded him in death in March of 2007. Rev. Henderson had pastored Free Will Baptist Churches in Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. the most recent having been Corinth Free Will Baptist Church in Iron City, GA. He is survived by three sons, Harvey Lee Henderson, Jr. and wife Mary of Colquitt, GA, Doug Henderson and wife Kathy of Florence, SC, and Don Henderson and wife Louise of Maggie Vallley, NC; four daughters, Myra Etterling and husband Blaine of Portsmouth, OH, Carol Caine and husband Victor of Dothan, AL, Merle Williams Jordan and husband Tim of Cowarts, AL and Paula Gilbert and husband Gene of Jesup, GA; three brothers, Willard Henderson and wife Olear of Cottondale, FL, Jack Henderson of Macon, GA, and John Henderson and wife Dianne of Rantoule, IL; two sisters, Margaret Windham of Tallahassee, FL and Lillian Morris and husband Edward of Kynesville, FL. Twenty-five grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren also survive.
