Syble Annette Drake McLeod, age 81, of Iron City, GA passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Donalsonville Hospital Emergency Room. Funeral services for Ms. McLeod will be held on Monday morning, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City with Jason McLeod, Ben McLeod, Will Griffin, Ian McLeod, Evan McLeod, and Wes Dozier serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Ms. McLeod was born in Donalsonville, GA on January 17, 1933 to General Lee Drake and Easter Quick Drake. She was a high school graduate, a homemaker, and a member of Iron City Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Cynthia Mims and her husband David of Beaufort, SC; three sons, Dr. Wendell McLeod, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Charlotte, NC, Andy McLeod and his wife Wendy of Albany, GA, and Max McLeod of Iron City, GA; a sister, Judy Wise and her husband Forrest of Hendersonville, TN and a brother, Lowell Drake of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jason McLeod, Ben McLeod, Emilee McLeod Griffin, Ian McLeod, Evan McLeod, Courtney Presnell, and Lauren Mims; as well as two great grandchildren, Brooks McLeod and Foster McLeod and numerous nieces and nephews. Ms. McLeod was preceded in death by her parents, General Lee Drake and Easter Quick Drake; her husband, Wendell McLeod, Sr.; three brothers, Rudolph Drake, Thomas Drake, and Charles Drake; and four sisters, Doris Lasley, Mary Lou Bush, Lillian O’Regan, and Johnlee Josey.
