We regret to announce the passing of Charles LeRoy "Roy" Lott, age 59, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at the Donalsonville Hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21,2006 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Rev. Corbin Hicks and Father Guy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Longbridge Cemetery in Nashville, GA at 2:00 PM. A scriptural rosary will be offered during the 9:00 AM Mass on Sunday, January 22, 2006 at the Catholic Church of the Incarnation in Donalsonville, GA. On a later date, a memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, Iowa. Mr. Lott was born in Moultrie, GA on December 21, 1945 to the late Samuel L. Lott and Ruth Lott. He attended schools in Moultrie and Albany, before graduating from Lowndes County High School (Valdosta) in 1966, where his classmates affectionately referred to him as "Big Daddy Roy Lott". He was married to Mary Lu Melsh Cain on December 2, 1989 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 2000 he was awarded a certificate in drafting from Bainbridge College. For thirty years, Mr. Lott was a pipefitter and welder with the BTJ Pipefitter Union, Local 368, in Albany, Georgia, where he served as a past union president, now Local 72, Atlanta, Georgia. He was on the Board of Directors of the Parkside Lake Association and served as past vice-president of the Lake Seminole Lion's Club. He attended the Catholic Church of Incarnation in Donalsonville, Georgia. Mr. Lott leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary Lu Lott of Donalsonville, GA and Spillville, Iowa; his mother, Mrs. Mittie Ruth Lott of Donalsonville; a brother, Billy Joe Lott and his wife Judy of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Debbie Brown and her husband Steve of Valdosta, Georgia; a niece, Stephanie Tam Lott; two nephews, Johnny Steven Brown and Samuel Paul Brown; many aunts and uncles; other family members; friends; Cole, Petunia and Scamp. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel L. Lott; a brother, Jerry Alvin Lott; a nephew, Kendall Blake Lott; and his mother-in-law, Helen Kovarik Melsh. Active pallbearers will be Johnny and Paul Brown, Ray and David Bennett, Bruce Holman, and Dr. Roger Ivey. Honorary pallbearers will be Vic, Bill, Alan, and Steve Kovarik, Royce Pickern, and Mickey Wright.
