JOSEPH J. THURSBY

Mr. Joseph J. Thursby, age 65, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Monday afternoon, September 29, 2014 at his residence. Graveside services for Mr. Thursby will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating. Interment will be held immediately following the service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville. Mr. Thursby was born in Donalsonville, GA on March 7, 1949 to Joseph J. Thursby, Sr. and Mary Ellen Burke Thursby. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1967 and attended one year of college. Mr. Thursby served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a truck driver for Flowerwood Nursery. He leaves to cherish his memory, a brother, Robert Thursby and his wife Wynona of Cairo, GA; two sisters, Sara Stoetzel and her husband Dave of Oak Ridge, TN and Rebecca Solomon and her husband Mark of Muskegan, Michigan. Mr. Thursby is also survived by three aunts, Rosa Lee Donalson of Bainbridge, GA, Lucille Rangel and Alice Thorpe both of Donalsonville, GA; an uncle, M.J. Conyers of Donalsonville, GA; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. Thursby, Sr. and Mary Ellen Burke Thursby.
