Violet “Vie” Mayo Ford, age 85, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday morning, July 31, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Ford will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Oakview Church of God with Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the church. With Johnnie Ford, Ronnie Ford, Donald Ford, Kevin Ford, Glenn Granger, and Lee Green serving as active casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seminole County Warpath on Cancer c/o Lucy Thomas PO Box 616 Donalsonville, GA 39845. Mrs. Ford was born in Oriental, NC, on October 9, 1928 to Ernest Mayo and Violet Carowain Mayo. She was a loving housewife and mother and later worked as a dispatcher for the Donalsonville Police Dept. Mrs. Ford was a member of Oakview Church of God and Women of Grace. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Johnnie Spencer Ford of Lady Lake, FL, Ronald Talmadge Ford of Warner Robins, GA, Donald Terrell Ford and his wife Sylvia of Ellijay, GA, Timothy Kevin Ford and his wife Kim of Bainbridge, GA, Cheryl Ford and her fiancé Lee Green of Climax, GA, and Paula Granger and her husband Glenn of Iron City, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eryn Mallard and Spencyr Ford, Courtney Ford, Megan and Caleb Ford, Eric and Crystal Prickett; as well as her great grandchildren, Brady Anderson and Chase Mallard. Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Mayo and Violet Carowain Mayo; her husband Johnnie Spencer Ford, Sr., a brother, Earnest Mayo Jr. and one grandchild, Cory Ford.
