MARY LEE ALDAY CHANDLER

Mary Lee Alday Chandler, age 93, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday morning, July 31, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Chandler will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Enfinger officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, August 1, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Tony L. Reynolds, Tony S. Reynolds, Randy Phillips, Richard Castillo, James Phillips, and Jimmy Scruggs serving as active casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers will be Erik Newberry and Travis Padgett. Mrs. Chandler was born in Donalsonville, GA on March 6, 1921 to Thomas and Mary McDaniel Alday. She was a housewife and a member of Donalsonville Church of God. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Dorothy Jean Lanier of Donalsonville, GA; four grandchildren, Jackie Scruggs of Bainbridge, GA, Teresa Phillips of Donalsonville, GA, Vanessa Castillo of Cairo, GA, and Donna Thuillier of Sylvania, GA; and a sister, Ruby Fitzgerald of Moultrie, GA. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Alday was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Matthew Alday and Mary McDaniel Alday; her husband, Thomas Chandler; a son, Ander Lee Chandler; and 6 children who died at birth.
