JIMMY DAVID MCLENDON

Jimmy David McLendon, age 70, of Ashford, AL passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. McLendon will be held on Thursday, July 17 2014 at 11:00 AM (CST) at Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Eric Norris officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 10 AM (CST) at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Nicholas McLendon, Marcus McLendon, Joey Hutto, Justin Hutto, Jeff Norris, and Kelley Holland serving as casketbearers and William “Buck” Temples as honorary casketbearer. Mr. McLendon was born in Donalsonville, GA on September 4, 1943 to Ulmer Edward McLendon and Lillie Margie Drake McLendon. Mr. McLendon was a retired truck driver and a member of Shady Grove Congregational Holiness Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha Lois McLendon of Ashford, AL; his sons, Michael McLendon and his wife Teresa of Gordon, AL, Neal McLendon and his wife Sabrina of Dothan, AL, and Todd McLendon of Ashford, AL; his daughters, Cindy Norris and her husband Steve of Dothan, AL, Lisa Hutto of Malone, FL, and Sharon Holland and her husband Ronnie of Dothan, AL; and a brother, Cyrus McLendon. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulmer Edward McLendon and Lillie Margie Drake McLendon; a brother, Dale McLendon; and a sister, Beulah Gipson.
