Thomas Earl “Red” Phillips, age 60, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be held on Sunday afternoon, June 22, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA with Curtis Phillips, Shannon Phillips, Doug Phillips, Paul Phillips, Rocky Phillips, and Glenn McMillan serving as active casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers will be Chad Phillips and Tim McMillan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Phillips was born in Donalsonville, GA on October 10, 1953 to Jim Phillips and Minnie Brasell Martin Phillips. He was a commercial fisherman and carpenter, as well as having worked at Seminole Stockyard for a number of years. He also enjoyed watching western movies and sports. He is survived by his daughters, Joni Phillips and her husband Kevin of Puryear, TN, Crystal Elmore and her husband Jason and Brandi Spurling all of Ozark, AL, and Kimberely Shoub and her husband James of Midland City, AL; two brothers, Larry Phillips and his wife Linda of Iron City, GA and Albert Phillips and his wife Mollie of Dothan, AL; and two sisters, Louise Chambliss and her husband Nelson of Colquitt, GA and Ella McCusker and her husband Doug of Cleveland, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, David Ingram, Nathan Scott, Kylie Reynolds, Devin Hearndon, Maegan Hearndon, Morgan Hearndon, Mollie Elmore, Katie Elmore, Jason Elmore, Jr., Kelsey Carter, Ansleigh Altman, Cole Altman, Parker Altman, Preston Altman, Harleigh Taylor, Seith Shoub, Lindsey Shoub, and Collin Shoub. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Phillips and Minnie Brasell Martin Phillips; his brothers, J.D. “Jake” Phillips, Robert Phillips, Roy “Man” Phillips, Calvin Phillips, and James “Rat” Phillips; and his sisters, Lucille Dukes and Lorene Phillips.
