Hoke Smith Parker, age 93, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, GA. Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Garth Duke-Barton and Rev. Willie Byron Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA with Edward Fiveash, Ethan Fiveash, Jarrod Fiveash, Willard Mims, Greg Mims, and Clint Mims serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 2:00 PM. Mr. Parker was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on September 28, 1920 to Byron Parker and Alice Brunson Parker. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was a farmer. Mr. Parker was of the Baptist faith. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ruby Parker of Donalsonville, GA; two daughters, Elaine Tomlinson and her husband Jim of Donalsonville, GA, and Anne P. Edwards of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kevin Tedder and his wife Terri of Lubbock, TX, Shawn Edwards and his wife Layne of Donalsonville, GA, Brandon Edwards and Kristie Eakin of Bainbridge, GA; and his great grandchildren, Elaney Tedder, Caitline Tedder, Sutton Smith, Summer Smith, Griffin Parker Edwards, Katie Eakin, Kelsey Bowen, and Carleigh Bowen. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Byron Parker and Alice Brunson Parker; his son, Hoke Smith Parker, Jr.; a daughter, Gloria Ann Parker; his brothers, Burrell Parker, A.E. Parker, Allen Parker, Woodrow Parker, and Reuben Parker; and a sister, Ruth Parker.
