Dr. Wilton Brown Reynolds, Jr., age 80, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday evening, March 1, 2014 at his residence. Memorial services for Dr. Reynolds will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Worship Assembly in Donalsonville, GA, of which he was a member, with Rev. Charles Barineau officiating. A private interment will take place at Andersonville National Cemetery at a later date. The family will visit with friends immediately after the service at the church. Dr. Reynolds was born in Chattahoochee, FL on May 17, 1933 to Wilton Brown Reynolds, Sr. and Inez Griffin Reynolds. After high school, he attended and graduated from Florida State University. He then enrolled in the University of Miami School of Medicine from which he graduated with his medical degree. He also served his country in the United States Army. Dr. Reynolds was one of the founding members of BRS (Breckenridge, Reynolds, Stewart), now known as Wiregrass Medical And Surgical and Donalsonville Hospital. His medical career spanned 43 years of service to the communities in which he lived. He devoted his life to the practice of medicine as a family physician in serving the needs of others. He had a vision for helping others and bringing new opportunities into the communities that meant so much to him. He always encouraged others and inspired them to be all that they could be in life. He always had time for his family, friends, and patients; in fact, his friends and patients became a part of his family. A well-known and well-loved doctor, he was also an avid fisherman and was actively involved in animal rescue. Dr Reynolds will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Martha Reynolds, of Bainbridge, GA; two sons, Kenneth Reynolds of Bainbridge, GA and Spencer Reynolds of Atlanta, GA; three daughters, Marsha Stivers and her husband H.B. of Tallahassee, FL, Tracy Sheffield of Thomasville, GA, and Robin Sheffield Ditrani and her husband Michael of Hillsdale, New Jersey; and a brother, Lyndon Reynolds and his wife Georgia of Chattahoochee, FL. Dr. Reynolds is also survived by his grandchildren, Sela Stivers, Preston Copeland, and Tyler Poppell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilton Brown Reynolds, Sr. and Inez Griffin Reynolds Jones.
