James A. Odom, age 67, was born in Donalsonville, GA on September 21, 1946 and passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in Albany, GA. Mr. Odom was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Audrey Odom; and a brother Timothy Odom. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, James A. Odom, Jr. (Kitty) of Albany, GA, Theresa Cooper (Jonnie) of Albany, GA, Tammy Lowe (Mike) of Sylvester, GA, and Tony Odom of Albany, GA; his grandchildren, Courtney, Melissa, and Belinda Odom, Damy (Amanda) Brown, Ryann Brown, Michael Roberts, Frank Lowe; great grandchildren, Kamiyah and Christian Lewis, Kaydin and Ian Odom, Brentley Brown; his siblings, Larry (Mary) Odom of Havana, FL, Leon (Margaret) Odom of Sumner, GA, Kathy Odom Meredith of Kulm, ND. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Odom was a welder most of his adult life and a member of the local 387 Iron Workers Union for 20 plus years. After years of living in Donalsonville he moved to Albany to live with his daughter Theresa because of illness. He enjoyed watching his westerns, NASCAR and being with his family. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Odom will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Will Archibald officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
