LAVELL S. MAYE

Mr. Lavell Maye, age 70, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Maye will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. John Werner officiating. Burial will follow in Colquitt City Cemetery in Colquitt. GA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Maye was born in Tifton, GA on September 20, 1943 to the late Thomas and Grace R. Maye. He was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA and worked as respiratory therapist at the Arlington Hospital. Mr. Maye leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Elaine Maye of Donalsonville, GA; his daughter, Keetra M. Sowell and her husband Craig of Tifton, GA and their children, Catherine, Sara, Jacob; his son, Staten J. Maye and his wife Sherri of Tifton, GA and their children, Collin, Elisha, Jaidyn; his step-daughter, Marsha Preston and her husband Steve of Wales, UK and their children, Corey, Ryan; his step-son Michael Skelton and his wife Kerri of Cheyenne, WY and their children, Jyllian, Joshua, Jeffrey and a step great grandchild; his sisters, Faye Bryan and Frances Allen both of Tifton, GA; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Maye of Newberry, FL. Mr. Maye was preceded in death by parents Thomas and Grace R. Maye of Tifton, GA; a brother, Billy Maye of Newberry, FL; and a brother-in-law, Johnny Allen of Tifton, GA.
