Belle Regan Herring

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Belle Regan Herring, widow of Rev. G. L. Herring, age 93, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Oakview Church of God with Rev. Mylan Brookins and Rev. Milton Pate officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. Mrs. Herring was born in Early County on November 5, 1914 to the late John Howard and Lessie White Regan. She worked as an operating room nurse at the Donalsonville Hospital with the late Dr. Chason before her marriage at which time she became a wife, mother and and a homemaker. She also worked as a seamstress for many years. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Harold Herring and his wife Cynthia of Donalsonville, GA; three daughters, Claudette Brookins of Donalsonville, GA and son-in-law Sam Brookins of Iron City, GA; Marilyn Ginn and her husband Robert of Royston, GA; Deborah Graham and her husband Alvin of Hazelhurst, GA; daughter-in-law, Christine B. Herring of Royston, GA; one brother, Sidney Regan and his wife Martha of Spanish Fort, AL; three sisters, Wynell Kirkland of Haines City, FL; Jewell Buckhalter of Jakin, GA; Hazel Flamiano and her husband Jerry of Petersburg, VA; one sister-in-law, Emily Regan of Blakely, GA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Howard and Lessie White Regan, her husband Rev. G.L. Herring, one son, Louie Herring, one brother, Carlton Regan and one sister, Juanita Bowen Josey. Pallbearers will be Theron Ginn, Robert Ginn, Sam Brookins, Anthony Brookins, Johnny Herring, Alvin Graham, Matthew Brookins and Leighton Brookins. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Oakview Church of God 5317 Harrell/Moye Road Donalsonville, GA 39845.
