We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Harold Harmon Herring, age 69, of Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Herring passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Herring will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Oakview Church of God with Rev. Mylan Brookins and Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Kevin Lewis, Theron Ginn, Chris Robinson, Vince Wilcox, Dick Howard, and Anthony Brookins serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Herring was born in Barwick, GA on November 4, 1943 to the late Rev. G. L. Herring and Belle Regan Herring. Mr. Herring graduated from Franklin County High School in Royston then attended the University of Georgia. He was an avid reader and avid Ham radio operator and talked to others all over the world. He retired from Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill after 35 years. He was a member of Oakview Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Brookins Herring of Donalsonville, GA; three sisters, Claudette H. Brookins of Hiawassee, GA, Marilyn Ginn of Royston, GA and Deborah H. Graham of Blairsville, GA; sisters-in-law, Christine B. Herring of Royston, GA, Rosalyn Austin (Dextral) of Conyers, GA, and Vanessa Stewart (Kenny) of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. G.L. Herring and Belle Regan Herring; and his brother, Louie Herring. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
