We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Emory Alan Snider, age 65, of Jakin, GA. Mr. Snider passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at Donalsonville Hospital. A memorial service for Mr. Snider will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 5:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Mr. Snider was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Emory A. Snider and Dale Deloris Tinsley Snider on June 1, 1948. He grew up in Columbus, GA and lived there until his high school graduation. After graduation, he attended college in Nashville, TN where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology. Upon receiving his degree, he became the Lab Director for Clay County Hospital in Ft. Gaines, GA. until its closing in 1988. He then began work as a Medical Technologist at the Donalsonville Hospital. He moved his family to Donalsonville in 1989 and continued to work with the laboratory department of Donalsonville Hospital until 2005. Mr. Emory was an avid fisherman and enjoyed repairing broken tackle. Mr. Snider is survived by his son, Rob Snider and his wife Haley of Donalsonville, GA; two daughters, Shannon Stewart and her husband Jeff of Jakin, GA and Luann Nunnery and her husband Hewett of Jakin, GA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Mac Nunnery, Kelsey Nunnery and Hannah Snider. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory A. Snider and Dale Deloris Tinsley; and his wife, LaDonna Allen Snider. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or the Diabetes Foundations.
