CORDELIA O'HEARN BROOKINS

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Cordelia O'Hearn Brookins, age 77, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Oakview Church of God with Rev. Mylan Brookins and Rev. Milton Pate officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Brookins was born in Early County, GA on March 14, 1931 to the late Arthur Odin and Essie Mae Burton O'Hearn. She was married to Reuben Brookins, Sr. who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, a member of Oakview Church of God, Oakview Prime Timers, Oakview Women of Grace and the Jubilees. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters; Cynthia Herring and her husband Harold; Vanessa Stewart and her husband, Kenny all of Donalsonville, GA; Rosalyn Austin and her husband Dextral of Conyers, GA; a brother, Edwin O'Hearn of Donalsonville, GA; a sister, Christine Boyd of Columbus, GA; grandchildren; Nicole Driver and her husband Jeremy of Conyers, GA; Neil Austin and his wife Monique of Boston, MA; Nicholas Austin and his wife Julie and Natalie Austin all of Covington, GA; Trey Myers and Spence Stewart and his wife Angela all of Donalsonville, GA; Shannan Reynolds and her husband Michael of Tallahassee, FL; great grandchildren; Ashley Driver, Sydney Driver, Sierra Driver and Jacob Driver all of Conyers, GA; Brayson Reynolds and McKade Reynolds both of Tallahassee, FL and John Lloyd Austin of Boston, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Odin and Essie Mae Burton O'Hearn; her husband, Reuben Thomas Brookins, Sr.; a son, Reuben Thomas Brookins, Jr.; a sister, Evelyn Warren; and three brothers, Wallace O'Hearn, Wynder O'Hearn and Hiram O'Hearn. Casketbearers will be Neil Austin, Nicholas Austin, Trey Myers, Spence Stewart, Harold Herring, Kenny Stewart, Dextral Austin, and Kevin Lewis.
