Mrs. Evelyn Mock Newberry, age 83, of Colquitt, GA passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 Donalsonville, GA. Funeral services for Mrs. Newberry will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Mitch Royals, Rev. Michael Wingertsahn, and Rev. Willie Byron Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Primitive Union Cemetery in Colquitt, GA with Jimmy Holt, Gregg Houston, Ronnie Newberry, Ron Parker, Cory Callahan and Kyle Willoughby serving as active pallbearers and the Pure Gold Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:45 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA. Mrs. Newberry was born in Miller County, GA on August 1, 1929 to the late William Mock and Katrina Williams Mock. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA and she worked as a para professional for the Miller County School System. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Thomas William Newberry (Cheryl) of Colquitt, GA and Chuck Newberry (Karen) of Colquitt, GA; a special friend, Billy Williams of Donalsonville, GA; as well as her grandchildren, Katrice Carter (Marcus) of Donalsonville, GA, Nicole Newberry of Bainbridge, GA, Victoria Newberry of Colquitt, GA and her great grandchildren, Lewis Carter and Harrison Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Mock and Katrina Williams Mock; her husband, Wallace Carlton Newberry; and her sister, Audrey Williams. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a church of choice. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
