Ross McLendon

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Ivy Ross McLendon, age 81 of Colquitt, GA. who passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville, GA. Funeral services for will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Flat Creek Baptist Church with and Rev. Andy Glover and Rev. Corey Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday night, June 28, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. McLendon was born in Colquitt, GA on August 5, 1931 to the late Josh and Clyde Glass McLendon. He attended Flat Creek Baptist Church and worked as a security guard at GA Pacific in Cedar Springs, GA. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Phillip McLendon and his wife Nancy of Commerce, GA; brother in law, Lester Glass of Colquitt, GA; sister, Lillian Heard of Albany, GA; numerous nieces and nephews; special sister in-law and brother-in-law, Mildred and Hayes Bowen of Colquitt, GA; special niece and nephew, Dell and Robert Cunningham of Donalsononville, GA He is also survived by two grandchildren Ivey (Brad) Cox, Haley McLendon; two great grandchildren Zack and Bradyn Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josh and Clyde Glass McLendon; wife, Wynetta Wade McLendon, son, Steve McLendon, brother, Bill McLendon, four sisters, Lou Ellen Benton, Decima Glass, Jonnie Worrells and Ruby Lee Bell. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
