We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Mavis Faircloth Odom, age 81, of Donalsonville, GA. Mrs. Odom passed away Monday afternoon, June 24, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Odom will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Salem Seminole Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Baggett and Rev. Laddie DeRocco officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Seminole Baptist Cemetery with Robin Blackburn, Ryan Blackburn, Michael Drake, Bryce Pitts, Brad Thompson and Chris Thompson serving as casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday night, June 26, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Odom was born in Donalsonville, GA on November 8, 1931 to the now late Thomas and Nellie Elizabeth Condrey Faircloth. She was a member of Salem Seminole Baptist Church and a member of the church choir. She was a homemaker as well as a good neighbor and loved her family. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Gloria Blackburn and her husband Rob; Wanda Thompson and her husband Raymond and Betty Stephens and her husband David all of Donalsonville, GA; two brothers, Robert Faircloth of Donalsonville, GA; Ronnie Faircloth and his wife Lydia of Colquitt, GA; one sister, Eleanor Poston and her husband Ed of Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Ryan Blackburn, Brad Thompson and his wife Amy, Chris Thompson and his wife Blair, Robin Blackburn, Brittany Pitts and her husband Bryce, Michael Drake and Wendy Drake; seven great grandchildren, Ashlyn Thompson, Ava Thompson, Landon Thompson, MacKenzie Thompson, Bryson Pitts, Wyatt Blackburn and Mason Drake as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Nellie Elizabeth Condrey Faircloth; her husband, Jimmy Odom, Jr.; two sisters, Jeanette Baker and Geneva Tinsley and two children, Linda Odom and Sammy Odom.
