Curtis Earnest, age 87, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 2:00 P M at Calvary Assembly of God in Brinson, GA with Rev. Wayne Thomas and Rev. Albert Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Michael Earnest, Curt Earnest, Robbie Odom, Keith Pitts, Jordan Davis and Skylar Pitts serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Rev. Earnest was born in Donalsonville, GA on January 8, 1926 to the late Bowen Earnest and Inez Merkerson Earnest. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Brinson. GA. After serving his county in the US Army; Rev. Earnest was first credentialed with the Assemblies of God in 1946 and Ordained in 1952. He also pastored several churches in Alabama, West Florida and Georgia. He served as Section Presbyter for several years for West Florida and South Georgia. He also served four years as chaplain in the Federal prison in Marianna. Rev. Earnest continued to minister where the Lord lead him to. He is survived by his wife, Sophie McDonald Earnest of Donalsonville, GA; his sons, Danny Earnest and his wife Gloria of Graceville, FL, Johnny Odom and his wife Donna of Pelham, GA; his daughters, Maxine Pitts and her husband Don of Panama City, FL, Deborah Kirkland and her husband Charles of Panama City, FL, and Susie Croom and her husband Cecil of Donalsonville, GA; his brothers, Lawrence Earnest and his wife Sandra of Fayetteville, GA, Dockie Earnest and his wife Elsie of Brinson, GA; his sisters, Allean Alday of Donalsonville, GA and Jeanette Miller of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bowen Earnest and Inez Merkerson Earnest; two brothers, Henry Earnest and Ralph Earnest.
