We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Estelle Murphy, age 97, of Jakin, GA who passed away June 4, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 at Jakin Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Henry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Jakin City Cemetery in Jakin, GA with Casey Cannon, Max Chapman, Ray Widner, Jerry Miller, Tommy Spooner and Mark Whittaker serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Jakin Baptist Church. Mrs. Murphy was born in Tattnall County, GA on April 2, 1916 to the late Pinky and Leona Lula Davis Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of Jakin Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Charles Murphy and his wife Frankie of Brunswick, GA; one daughter, Shelby Gale and her husband Ed of Jakin, GA; five grandchildren, Mark Murphy, Rebecca Davis, Ed Gale, Jr., Dennis Gale and Dianna Spooner. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pinky and Leona Lula Davis Williams, her husband, Wilbur E. Murphy, brothers, Arthur Williams, Charlie Williams, J.P. Williams, Sam Williams, Yank Williams; sisters, Hester Anderson, Louie Davis, daughter, Betty Murphy and grandson, Kip Gale. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
