We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Charles Raymond Burke, Sr., age 80, of Donalsonville who passed away April 1, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with Father Thaddeus Searles, ST officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Pond/ Olive Grove Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held Friday, April 4, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Burke was born in Donalsonville, GA on September 30, 1927 to the late William H. and Susie Mae Brown Burke. A lifetime resident of Seminole County, he served his country in the Navy during World War II. He married Marjorie Adams Burke, who preceded him in death. He and Marjorie were owners of B & B Electric and Furniture Store for 47 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church, Lions Club and American Legion. Mr. Burke leaves to cherish his memory; one son, Charles Raymond Burke, Jr. of Donalsonville, GA; three sisters, Sybil Kennedy of Clearwater, FL; Dorothy Butcher and her husband George of Donalsonville; Maxine Nealy of Mays Landing, N.J. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Susie Mae Brown Burke; his wife, Marjorie Adams Burke; two brothers, D. L. "Muggs" Burke and Gene Burke; and one sister Vivian Burke Endicott. Pallbearers will be Bill Burke, Dr. Dean Burke, Steve Burke, Ronnie Burke, Adam Burke and Jimmy Hill and Chuck Landwehrmann. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Ham, past employees of B & B Electric and Furniture Store, John Mosely, past and present Directors of Ameris Bank.
