WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF MR. JOHN F. TAYLOR, SR., AGE 81, OF DONALSONVILLE. MR. TAYLOR PASSED AWAY SUNDAY MORNING AT HIS RESIDENCE. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2013 AT 2:00 PM AT HAMMOCK SPRINGS FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH WITH DR. GARY SMITH AND REV. CHARLES TAYLOR OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL FOLLOW IN TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY. VISITATION WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, APRIL 8, 2013 FROM 6:00-8:00 PM AT THE CHAPEL OF EVANS-SKIPPER FUNERAL HOME. MR. TAYLOR WAS BORN IN CLIMAX, GA ON JAN. 8, 1932 TO THE NOW LATE JAMES HENRY AND FLONNIE GRIFFIN TAYLOR. HE RETIRED FROM THE US AIR FORCE IN 1970 AND THE US POSTAL SERVICE IN 1995. HE WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF HAMMOCK SPRINGS FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH HAVING SERVED AS A DEACON, A LAYSPEAKER, A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER, AND PRESIDENT OF THE MASTER'S MEN. HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY, HIS WIFE, TAMMIE TAYLOR OF DONALSONVILLE, GA; THREE SONS, JOHN F. "FRANKIE" TAYLOR, JR. AND HIS WIFE DONNA OF COLQUITT, GA, JAMES E. "EDDIE" TAYLOR AND HIS WIFE JAN OF DONALSONVILLE, GA, AND JEFF W. TAYLOR OF DONALSONVILLE, GA; AND A SISTER-IN-LAW, LOUISE TAYLOR OF BAINBRIDGE, GA. HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS GRANDCHILDREN, MELISSA TAYLOR CUTLER, STEVEN TAYLOR, HEATHER STAFFORD, HANNAH TAYLOR, AND DANI TAYLOR, AS WELL AS HIS GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, MEREDITH CUTLER, MARSHALL CUTLER, CHEYENNE STAFFORD, AND JADE STAFFORD. MR. TAYLOR WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, JAMES HENRY TAYLOR AND FLONNIE GRIFFIN TAYLOR; TWO BROTHERS, RED TAYLOR AND BILL TAYLOR; FOUR SISTERS, ALMA FAIRCLOTH, NETTIE CHESTER, JEANETTE SAPP, AND DOLA STRICKLAND; A GRANDDAUGHTER, NICOLE TAYLOR; AND TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, ALEX AND EMMALYN STAFFORD. FLOWERS WILL BE ACCEPTED OR MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS MAY BE MADE TO GENTIVA HOSPICE, HAMMOCK SPRINGS FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH, OR THE NICOLE TAYLOR SCHOLARSHIP FUND.
