We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Kathryn Faircloth Smith, age 71, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born on March 9, 1942 in Donalsonville, GA to the now late F.B. and Eva Lucinda Odom Faircloth. She worked for many years with the State of Florida and was affectionately referred to as "Granny Kat". She was a member of Hebrew Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Lamont Smith of Donalsonville, GA; two daughters, Katie and Mike Napier of Macon, GA and Jennifer Smith of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Marshall Faircloth and his wife Patti of Tallahassee, FL; and three sisters, Sue Preston of Milton, FL, Etta Tucker of Pensacola, FL, and Charlotte Phillips of Donalsonville, GA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael Napier, Alisha Napier, William Smith, Casey Coleman and her husband Myles, and Stacy Smith; one great grandchild, Caleb Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, F.B. and Eva Lucinda Odom Faircloth; her husband, Jimmy T. Smith; four brothers, Calvin Faircloth, F.B. Faircloth, Jr. (Bartow), Donnell Faircloth, and Hayden Faircloth; as well as four sisters, Gwen Hunt Heller, Monica Smith, Sabra Ann Childress, and Judy Wood Cloud.
