JUNIOR TAFT OWEN

We regret to announce the passing of Junior Taft Owen, age 94, who passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2005 at the Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville with Rev. Kirk Loyless and Rev. Jimmy Hornsby officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Community Cemetery in Chipley, FL at 11:00 AM CST with Rev. Tim Owen officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2005 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. You may share your thoughts with the family be visiting our website at www.evansskipperfh.com. Mr. Owen was born in Geneva, AL on Jan. 5, 1911 to the late Causey and Leona Holland Owen. He worked in the paper industry for over 40 years; retiring from the St. Regis Paper Co. in Pensacola, FL after 35 years of service in that one mill. He was married to the former Evie D. Hampton who preceded him in death. He was a devoted and active member of the Friendship United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Webb Bible Class and the Methodist Men. Mr. Owen leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Donald Owen and his wife Barbara of DeRidder, LA and Phillip Owen and his wife Elaine of Donalsonville, GA; one daughter, Debbie Self and her husband Jimmie of Cantonment, FL; and one sister, Wilma Livingston of Chipley, FL. Six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild also survive. Active pallbearers will be Donald Owen, Jr., Billy Owen, Jerrold Owen, Charles Brown, and Chris Jenkins. Members of the Webb Bible Class of Friendship United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
