We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Larry Wayne “Pebo” Cross, age 72, of Old Hickory, TN formerly of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services for Pebo will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pebo was born in Donalsonville, GA on February 22, 1941 to the late Rupert and Mary Lee Barber Cross. Pebo was a 1958 graduate of Seminole County High School. He was master printer that started at the Donalsonville News and progressed on to several other newspapers and various print shops. He was also a musician playing various venues across the Southeast. After to moving to the Nashville, TN area, he started his own construction business where he was certified in 22 states. Pebo loved fishing, building various projects, cooking and entertaining at his “Swamp Gravy Café”. After retiring, he enjoyed driving across Mexico where he met many wonderful friends and was known as “El Charro Pebo”. Pebo was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Directors staff at Hasan Shrine Temple in Albany, GA. Pebo is survived by his wife, Melanie Cross of Old Hickory, TN; his son, Andy Cross and his wife Jill of Tifton, GA; grandchildren, Hunter and Julianna Cross of Tifton, GA; brother, Raleigh and his wife Martha Cross of Monticello, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rupert and Mary Lee Barber Cross. Active casketbearers will be Louis Moss, Ken Cross, Skip McKee, David Cordell, Burt Bugg, Victor Hornsby, Eddie Jones and Brad Bugg. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
