We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Winson Broxton, age 88, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Broxton will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Bryon Griffs officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA with Doug Andrews , Timothy Easom, Steve Andrews, Chuck Hardage, Keith Bowen, Ronnie Skipper, Greg Broxton serving as pallbearers. Mr. Broxton was born in Marianna, FL on June 24, 1924 to the late Robert Frank and Nettie Bell Herring Broxton. He served his country in the US Army, was a member of South Mt. Zion Church of God and was a farmer. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jessie Mae McLendon Broxton of Donalsonville, GA;two daughters, Helen Phillips and her husband Dan of Columbus, GA; Martha Smith and her husband Inge of Fortson, GA: two sisters, Winona Easom of Donalsonville, GA and Wilma Houston of Lakeland, FL. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Laura Armour and her husband Kirk of Newnan, GA, Zach Smith and Ben Smith of Columbus, GA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Frank and Nettie Bell Herring Broxton; and four brothers, Lonnie Broxton, Rollie Broxton, Collie Broxton and Herman Broxton. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
