GILBERT MEED KELLEY, SR.

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Gilbert Meed Kelley, Sr., age 75, of Donalsonville, GA who SIGNED OFF THE AIR Thursday morning, February 21, 2008, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville. He was owner of our local radio station WSEM-AM, WGMK-FM, and WBBK-FM&AM and was involved with broadcasting for well over 50 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a member and past president of Donalsonville Lion's Club and Chamber of Commerce. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years Grace Kelley of Donalsonville and his children, Steve Farley and his wife, Vicki of Eufaula, AL; Pam Chain and her husband, Gary of Hattiesburg, MS; Gil Kelley, Jr. of Donalsonville, GA; Mike Farley and his wife Alyce of LaGrange, NC; Becky Newberry and her husband Ted of Donalsonville, GA; Cyndi Middleton and her husband, Mike of Colquitt, GA; three sisters, Mary Faerber of Chula Vista, CA; Sally Lucero of Portland, OR and Judy Rohrs of Kissimmee, FL. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Giglio, Brian Farley, Kelley McKenzie, Zach Chain, Hannah Grace Chain, Meed Kelley, Georgia Farley, Chad Newberry, Brooke Newberry, Michael Middleton, Jr. and Jamie Middleton and 9 great grandchildren, Haleigh Giglio, Adrienne Giglio, Brianne Farley, Kristen Farley, Elizabeth McKenzie, Eli McKenzie, Harlie Middleton, MaKaylie Middleton and Lillie Middleton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, three brothers, Kenneth Kelley, Thad Kelley, Bob Kelley and a sister, Margaret Kelley preceded him in death. Pallbearers will be Ed King, Scott Mitchell, Brad Clarke, Greg Whittaker, Howard Whittaker, Marc Godby, John Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack and Polly Brannon, J.B. and Laurie Clarke, Alf and Jeanette Greene, Luther and Martha Nell Spooner, Bo and Carolyn McLeod, Billy and Betty Jane Spooner,Jack and Ruth Shamblin, Bud and Lila Youmans and Mary Helon King.
