CARLTON EAGER KELLEY, SR., 89, OF COLQUITT, GA, WENT HOME TO HIS HEAVENLY FATHER ON FEBRUARY 5, 2013, AT THE HOME OF HIS SON IN ROCKY MOUNT, NC. CARLTON WAS BORN ON NOVEMBER 5, 1923, IN COLQUITT, GA TO LEWIS B. AND ESTELLE KELLEY. A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF SEMINOLE AND MILLER COUNTIES, CARLTON WAS A BELOVED MEMBER OF BOTH COMMUNITIES. FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MR. KELLEY WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2013 AT 2:30 PM EST AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF DONALSONVILLE, GA WITH REV. TOMMY DOBBINS OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL FOLLOW AT UNION PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY IN MILLER COUNTY. VISITATION WILL BE HELD ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE (1:30 TO 2:30 EST) AT THE CHURCH. MR. KELLEY WAS A LIFELONG MEMBER OF FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF DONALSONVILLE, WHERE HE SERVED AS DEACON, SUPERINTENDENT OF SUNDAY SCHOOL, MEMBER OF THE WHIT AIKEN SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS AND MEMBER OF THE SENIOR ADULT MINISTRIES. THE MAJORITY OF CARLTON'S WORKING CAREER WAS SPENT SERVING THE FARMING COMMUNITIES OF SOUTHWEST GA IN THE FARM SUPPLY INDUSTRY. HE RETIRED FROM CARGILL COMPANY IN THE EARLY 90'S. MR. KELLEY WAS ALSO A PROUD VETERAN, HAVING SERVED HIS COUNTRY AS A MEMBER OF THE U.S. ARMY DURING WORLD WAR II. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS SON CARLTON EAGER KELLEY, JR. AND WIFE JOAN OF ROCKY MOUNT, NC AND HIS DAUGHTER CECILE SCHNITKER AND HUSBAND MARK OF PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL, AS WELL AS THREE GRANDCHILDREN, JARED KELLEY AND WIFE LONDON OF WILSON, NC, CLAYTON KELLEY OF RALEIGH, NC AND MATTHEW SCHNITKER OF PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL. MR. KELLEY IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS SISTER, JANET LANE OF IRON CITY, GA; NEPHEWS MAX KELLEY AND WIFE NELL OF DONALSONVILLE, GA, BUNK KELLEY OF COLQUITT, GA, GENE WILLIAMS AND WIFE HAZEL OF ATLANTA, GA, BILLY WILLIAMS OF DONALSONVILLE, GA, EDGAR LANE OF IRON CITY, GA AND DON LANE AND WIFE RHONDA OF IRON CITY, GA; AS WELL AS NIECES SUSAN WEAVER AND HUSBAND JOHN OF COLQUITT, GA, DOT MCCROAN OF BARTOW, FL, LINDA LEROY OF BARTOW, FL, JOYCE GRANTHAM AND HUSBAND ALVIN OF VALDOSTA, GA, CAROLYN LASSITER AND HUSBAND DONALD OF AHOSKI, NC, DIANE CULLIFER AND HUSBAND CARROLL OF AHOSKI, NC, AND AMY CROZIER AND HUSBAND PAUL OF COLQUITT, GA. CARLTON WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS BELOVED WIFE, OUIDA GRIMSLEY KELLEY; GRANDSON BENJAMIN HEATH SCHNITKER; HIS PARENTS, LEWIS BENJAMIN AND ESTELLE WILLIAMS KELLEY; BROTHERS, ARTHUR KELLEY, BRUTON KELLEY, AND CECIL KELLEY; SISTERS, ABBIE WILLIAMS, IRENE CATO, AND CHRISTINE SMITH; AND NEPHEW WAYNE WILLIAMS OF ATLANTA.
